50 years of B.E.G. Brück Electronic GmbH

‘The customer's wish has been our inspiration since the beginning.’ What B.E.G. Founder, Friedrich Brück sums up in just a few words has characterised the success of this family business since 1975. For half a century now, B.E.G. has stood for innovative solutions that inspire building owners world-wide and make an important contribution to the protection of the climate.

To mark the 50th anniversary of B.E.G. Brück Electronic GmbH, we take a look back at the success story of the Lindlar-based company, which is still family-run today: The company laid the foundation stone for the comprehensive B.E.G. range in 1975 with the development and production of emergency lights, which still have a place in the B.E.G. product portfolio today, but now of course, with energy-saving LED technology. After a devastating fire destroyed the young company's entire premises in 1979, B.E.G. managed to quickly rebuild the administration and production facilities and build on the successes of the early years. In 1986, B.E.G. was one of the first companies in Germany to start manufacturing motion detectors and automatic lights. The LUXOMAT® brand was registered for this purpose and subsequently gave its name to several generations of motion detectors, which were primarily used outside of buildings for security purposes.

In response to the rapid development of building automation, B.E.G. began developing and producing presence detectors and brightness sensors in 2000. This was followed in 2007 by the construction of a sales and logistics centre with an attached production facility, which was expanded by several thousand square metres just four years later to meet the growing demand for intelligent control products. In 2014, an administration and training centre was added to the production and distribution centre, and three years later a research and development centre with its own lighting laboratory was built in the former B.E.G. administrative headquarters.

In the recent past, the central warehouse was expanded by 2000 square metres and a semi-automated warehouse system was introduced, enabling a more efficient logistics process. Today, B.E.G. is recognized as a globally successful electrical engineering company with 14 foreign branches, almost 300 employees and more than 8000 product lines. The product range now extends far beyond the sensors from the early days: from planning and implementation to after-sales customer support, B.E.G. offers all building automation components from a single source.

This company is still owner-managed today and has remained true to its roots and maintains its headquarters in Lindlar in the Upper Berg region of Germany. Just like its commitment to combating energy waste. B.E.G. has remained committed to the responsible use of resources and continues to work on the development of climate-friendly products. B.E.G. sensor solutions already offer potential energy savings of up to 80 %, whilst also providing comfortable environments in which to work.

B.E.G. looks back with gratitude and pride on 50 successful years and looks forward to the challenges of the coming decades.
