In the context of a succession for our subsidiary in Belgium, we are looking for a Director Sales & Business Development (m/f/d)

The Director Sales & Business Development will be responsible for both, winning clients as well as expanding sales via sales representatives. The director will be working independently and reports to the Headquarters in Germany / owner family, but also should be able to work as a part of an existing team in an international environment.

Main responsibilities and challenges of this highly attractive and entrepreneurial position can be described as follows:

  • The superior task of the person is the strategic and operational leadership of the Belgium entity / rep office, being in charge for B.E.G. Brück’s business in Belgium
  • General responsibility for the sales in the defined region
  • Leading of existing sales division
  • Key Account Management
  • Developing and leading of existing sales staff
  • Business developmentAcquisition of new clients and business partners as well as taking care of existing contacts
  • Addressing the different target groups (wholesalers, engineers, electricians etc.)
  • Organizing local events (customer trainings, tradeshows, events) with support from HQ
  • Market analysis and development of long-/ short-term strategies for business expansion in line with HQ strategy
  • Development of a product-, client, and market strategy, which is orientated in company growth (networking products)
  • Implementation of sales strategies and business development
  • Build-up and development of purchasing, project management, project implementation, sales and services
  • Processing and supervising orders from the business units
  • Organization of internal processes with the team
  • Building up and maintaining strong business relations with industrial customers and external organizations
  • Potential analysis and operational planning of the sales regions


Profile & requirements
In this position, you will be responsible for both winning clients as well as expanding our client’s business, organization and sales. This position requires a sales professional with some years of relevant experience in selling technical products in the electrical industry or potentially also from the customer side. Practical knowledge of information and communication systems is an advantage. The Sales & Business Development Director should be a friendly, intelligent, independent and dynamic sales person, who is a strong initiator with a proven track record in acquiring new accounts as well as in the successful implementation of sales via sales team. Ideally this person has previously also worked for a German subsidiary in Belgium region. The person must be an excellent communicator, with the capability to convey and implement ideas as well as the ability to explain new concepts in an easy and understandable way. Leadership and motivation of the team is very important!

Education
Technical Engineering Degree, qualified business management education or academic degree, preferably having a good technical understanding of the products category. Alternatively, strong experience in related business field with practically gained technical know-how and relevant industry experience.

Qualification & Experiences

  • At least five years’ experience in technical sales on senior level or alternatively from the customer side
  • Proven experience in developing and organizing sales and sales via partners/ representatives / wholesalers
  • Expertise in managing a company within an affiliated group
  • Experienced business manager with a proven background in organizing and managing sales of complex technical products (outstanding track record, high quality achievements, market outperformer)
  • Working experience and strong market knowhow of the electrical wholesaler industry in Belgium region
  • Experienced user of MS Office (Excel)
  • Fluent knowledge of both national languages is required (NL/FR) spoken and written
  • Fluently English spoken and written
  • German is an advantage but not a requirement
