BIM, Building Information Modelling, is a planning methodology which is increasingly becoming a standard for planning large projects in Europe. Here, all physical and functional characteristics of the planned structure are represented in a 3D model. This data is kept up to date automatically as far as possible, enabling all involved persons access to the current planning status and to background information, providing the basis for additional decisions to be taken.
There are many BIM software suppliers on the market. The .rfa format used by B.E.G. applies to the Revit program from the market-leading software supplier, Autodesk. The files can also be opened by programs from other BIM software suppliers, although this may lead to data loss.
B.E.G. is making 3D data and product information available for many B.E.G. occupancy and motion detectors via the company’s website.
